Welcome to my website, I'm Nicole!
Thanks for stopping by! I understand that considering coming to therapy for the first time can be an intimidating experience. I want you to know that I am warm, friendly, non-judgmental and believe I have an innate aptitude for helping my clients achieve their authentic selves. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University. One of my clinical areas of interest includes working with young adults to better understand and manage stress, develop a sense of purpose, and build resilience. Navigating life as a young adult can be tricky. There is a lot of pressure placed on young people to "have it all figured out" and therapy can be a great place to process that.
My other primary focus is in helping children and their families find ways to address issues arising from anxiety, depression, impulse-control disorders, anger management, and low self-esteem, as well as mood and academic-based disorders. I am well-versed in evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) as well as creative behavioral interventions which incorporate art and play into treatment. I use a combination of techniques to help caregivers foster communication between each other and their children. I am able to interpret the unique needs of my clients’ individual circumstances and apply a strengths-based perspective to help them find a path to healing and balance.
Outside of the therapy office I enjoy traveling with my husband, cooking (especially things that are spicy!), and exploring new hiking trails with my two rescue dogs Romeo and Penny (pictured below)
